The 48 Hour Hollywood Diet

The 48-hour Hollywood diet claims to be a safe, effective weight loss program. Hollywood diet “miracle juice” is a very successful product, but close examination of the facts suggests that the 48-hour Hollywood diet is yet another in a long list of fad diets.

Hollywood Diet Claims

The Hollywood diet makes some remarkable claims. If you follow the Hollywood Diet you’re supposed to be able to lose 5 pounds in 24 hours and 10 pounds in 48 hours.

The Hollywood diet is touted as an all-natural way to detoxify the body. The Hollywood diet “miracle juice” is a blend of various juices and contains a variety of vitamins, minerals, essential oils and antioxidants, along with “cleansing” ingredients.

48-Hour Hollywood Diet: How it Works

The makers of the 48-hour Hollywood diet deliver on their promise: You will lose approximately 10 pounds over two days. There is, however, a catch.

The 10 pounds you lose will be water. The Hollywood diet regime calls for ingesting only the Hollywood Miracle Juice and water for 48 hours. All other food should be avoided.

What we have here is, simply put, a two-day fast. You’ll easily shed 10 pounds of water while on the Hollywood diet, but you’ll gain it back almost immediately.

The first 10 pounds dieters lose on almost any diet is usually water weight. Fad diets have taken advantage of this fact for a long time. The Hollywood diet can’t be accused of false advertising, however: You will lose about 10 pounds. It just won’t be 10 pounds of fat.

Hollywood Diets Costs

At best, the Hollywood Diet results in a temporary loss of 10 pounds of water while possibly cleansing the body. A six pack of 48-hour Hollywood diet “Miracle Juice” will set you back $87. Whether or not you consider this a good deal is up to you.

Health and the Hollywood Diet

The 48-hour Hollywood diet is, when all is said and done, a juice fast. Medical opinion is divided on whether or not fasting has a positive or negative effect on the health.

It’s also interesting to note that, in the FAQ section on the Hollywood diet Web site, the makers of the Hollywood diet freely acknowledge that the 48-hour Hollywood diet is a fast and that it is not a permanent solution for weight loss.

Most people can use the Hollywood diet without any negative health effects, but there are some exceptions: The makers of Hollywood diet Miracle Juice state that people with diabetes should not use the Hollywood diet. Pregnant women and nursing mothers should also avoid the diet.

The Hollywood Diet Patch Myth

Type “Hollywood diet patch” into a search engine and you’ll get plenty of results. However, your chances of finding a Hollywood diet patch are slim, at best.

The makers of the Hollywood diet simply do not make a Hollywood diet patch. If a site offers a Hollywood diet patch they’re taking advantage that the word “Hollywood” can be added to the beginning of just about any diet product.

So a Hollywood diet patch isn’t made by the same people who designed the 48-hour Hollywood diet. The reliability of a product that’s ripping of a fad diet is, at best, questionable. Avoiding “Hollywood diet patch” products is probably safest.
