Hypnotherapy Costs

As with any other form of psychotherapy, the cost of hypnotherapy will depend upon many factors. A single hypnotherapy session may cost under $100, while a comprehensive program can cost several thousands of dollars. Some health insurance providers cover some or all of the cost of hypnotherapy. If your insurance won’t cover these costs, however, many hypnotherapists offer easy payment plans for clients in financial strife. Learn how to compare hypnotherapists and analyze the cost of a hypnotherapy session to choose the right professional for you.

What is the Average Hypnotherapy Session cost?

The average cost of a single hypnotherapy session is between $75 and $150. However, this figure can vary, depending on the client’s location, schedule and the services required. As with other types of therapy, hypnosis costs may be quite high, depending on the hypnotherapist’s area of specialization. A single hypnotherapy session which usually takes between 60 to 90 minutes can be as low as $50 or as high as $500. The number of sessions required to achieve the desired results can also affect the cost of hypnotherapy.

Why do Some Hypnotherapists Charge More than Others?

Experience is the main determinant in how hypnotherapists calculate their rates. Working with hypnotherapists that are highly specialized or associated with a prestigious firm is often expensive. For these hypnotherapists, however, the higher quality of service may offset the high cost of hypnotherapy. If you choose a less experienced hypnotherapist, your cost may be lower, but not always. In addition, hypnotherapists that are based in the city often charge higher rates than professionals in suburban or rural settings.

Do Hypnotherapists Offer Package Deals?

Some hypnotherapists offer comprehensive programs for common goals, such as losing weight, quitting smoking and curing various phobias. Since these programs are geared towards your specific goal, they involve a limited number of hypnotherapy sessions. The specialization makes each hypnotherapy session much more effective. These package deals often reflect a lower rate per session than the cost of hypnotherapy for an individual session.

What About Additional Costs?

Many hypnotherapists offer optional services. For example, you may be able to receive a recording of your session, which can add to the cost of hypnotherapy. As for hidden costs, qualified, professional hypnotherapists won’t add these to a hypnosis session. You may be asked to pay extra costs for rescheduling or canceling appointments, but hypnotherapists will typically outline these costs before you start your first session.
